Tales of two Entrepreneurs

5 K a day Target - Week 1

I will admit to the fact that a few years back we were making good dough through unique content. Later we lost our niche and lost most of our recurring revenue stream. However moving forward, I am setting my goal of making 5 K a day from 09/01/2008, which is 1 year from now.

I will keep on writing a weekly blog to update all of you with my progress and success so far. I am not going to write a new youtube, nor am gonna re-invent the wheel. All I will do is generate the revenue and traffic the way most of the webmaster generates, that is through unique and better highly targeted content.  The overall grand plan is build 5000 unique content sites, keep on updating them, keep on getting links for them and do everything under the sun to make each of the site making at least 1 $ a day. If I achieve this target, then even 100 K a day is easily doable.

I will start a pilot testing phase in this week. To begin with I have identified 50 niche sectors. We are going to build blogs for these 50 niche sectors this week. By the end of next week, the target is come out with 50 working blogs on 50 brand new domains. I am also recruiting a mini team to manage this set of 50 sites. The mini team will include a web designer, a content writer and a link builder. Once I am done with setting up 50 sites, this team will take the blogs from there to next level by adding new content and by making the blog visible at other places. My target is making 50$ a day from the pilot sites by October 30.

So gathering all my energy to move towards building 5000 unique target sites with a staff of 300. I wish myself Best Of Luck?

Will you have a directory of your blogs where we can actually watch the progress? I am curious to see how you manage that number of blogs/sites. I wish you the best of luck…… this could be an inspiration for the rest of us.

  2. John Lennon Says:

5000 sites? no wonder the web is such a wasteland of useless content. thanks, asshole. I hope you make a billion dollars and kill yourself.

  3. Nitin Says:

I won’t make a directory of blogs, because else it may be termed as Link Farming. But indeed, I will keep on posting minor details of management and cost management along with revenue.
John Lennon, the guy posting with fake name, look who is posting useless content with fake name. At least I am posting original content and being truthful about it. Anyway I appreciate your wishes for making “US” a billionaire.

  4. didi Says:

Lenon is right, you are ruining it for the rest of us by further increasing the amount of junk on the www

I followed the link from Aaron Wall’s blog and while I admire your goal and the analytical way in which you’re approaching it, I have to agree with the two posters above that this is just a garbitrage spam play. Any content that generates $1 a day, regardless of how original it is, is still only worth $1/day. You’re not setting out to provide valuable information or fill any need because to do that, your outsourcing costs would swallow your profits and then some. $1/day? Come on… spam by any other name…

  6. Randy Ray Says:

I think you should set more ambitious goals for your websites than to simply make $1/day per site. I have friends with websites that generate $3000/day in revenue. They only run 2 or 3 websites, but they make plenty of money with them, and they don’t have 300 employees.

  7. Mel Says:

Well, I just entered the mindset of “making money” online, after wasting 11 years on the internet gaming and downloading porn. To some degree I agree with posters refering to amount of waste on the web. That said, I applaude you for taking upon such task and I truly hope you make something out of this. I need all the inspiration that I can get heh. Will keep an eye for further developments. Keep us posted.

    I agree with John Lennon.
You are setting out to become a spammer which is never a good thing to be!
Income is unreliable at the best of times and spammers are the scum of the internet IMO!

You would do much better to start off and build 5 high quality sites that have good content and value.
that make $1k per day each!

You don’t seem to know what your going to be in for altho I admire your thoughts!

Maintaining 10 busy sites and keeping their content good and current is a BIG BIG job even for two people (proper original content….not machine generated crap)

The maths dont work out for your idea!

5000 content based sites will take 300 people at least to keep running (and thats over 15 sites per person which is a fair bit)

But the wages for 300 people will far outweigh the $500 per day you are making……

Meaning you will be in negative equity!!!

I would focus on making a max of 5 decent sites that 2 people can maintain…the numbers and possible traffic just seem a lot better!

I think you’re plan is sound. Of course I would : ) since I’m currently doing the exact same thing. I’m just about 6 months ahead of you is all. With around 1,000 blogs and domains under ownership and management, I can tell you what you’re doing works. Your goals might be lofty unless you have a tool that takes the research and SEO thinking out of it so you can just focus on content. Social medial (blogs) are very rapidly moving up the search rankings because of the frequent updates that a easy to use, ..to implement cms system. I spent over a year developing a tool to do exactly what you’re saying and its available at moguling.com in beta. Good luck

  11. Brendan Says:

Id suggest making them regular sites with wordpress backend, not exactly a blog that has to be updated. I make my sites and just let them sit.

I think your plan is good in theory, but its allot easier said than done.

Now about flooding the internet with useless content. I used to think the same way as the other comentors, but then i woke up to reality. People are never going to stop spamming search engines, why not join the fun and make some money. Plus if you at least put decent content on the site, who is to say it isnt helpful to someone.

The thing I would be worried about is the domain bill, but i guess if your making 5k a day it isnt a big deal.

  12. Alex Says:

5000 websites? do not you think it is too much and by the day you build them the Internet will change completely with no opps for those websites to make money?

  13. Why Building One Site is Better Than Building Multiple Sites » Net Business Blog Says:

[…] just read about someone who’s trying to make 5,000 sites in a year (found via SEO Book). His goal is to make a dollar a day with each site. If he can […]

  14. Jake Says:

I’m just wondering, how are you going to manage 300 employees? It’s an honest question and I hope you provide some sort of answer.

  15. Keith Donegan Says:

To all the skeptics out there and are calling Nitin a spammer, can I ask why? I mean if he creates great content that people want to read, then he should be getting paid for his time. And i think you are using the wrong word here (spam) When i think spam, I think dodgy emails I get that I never asked for.

If you click a website and don’t like it for whatever reason, you leave. simple as. The whole model is relative. If he gets to 5,000 a day, he deserves it because he is doing something right and people are viewing and reading his sites, if he doesn’t the sites will just go stale and eventually die, simple as.

  16. Charlie (my Real name) Says:

Sounds like a short bus idea. Lets look at the numbers.

    300 employees X 8 bucks hr X 8 hrs = 19200 buck aday

    5000 blogs X 1 buck aday = 5000 bucks

Does anyone see a short fall here.

  17. Keith Donegan Says:

@Charlie, You do know the bulk of the development will be going on in India right? …

  18. barry Says:

“Charlie” a.k.a. shortbusseo your nick says it all about your thinking ability:). DUUUUUUde, we are not paying our guys $8 a hour man, our whole crew is based in india Jackass. Now get back on your shortbus and go away.

  19. Dale Says:

Nitin, don’t be discouraged by nay sayers but a good plan helps. I manage about 1,000 blogs with only 12 employees plus a blog network of 50. Total cost is less than $100,000 per month. You need good tools though. My traffic has increased 5 fold in last 30 days, and although I’ve been losing $$ on this venture, the cash flow will catch up in about 6 months. If you have exact keyword domains, it helps alot of course. And for those that said blogs will go away is crazy. The internet was created in the image of corporate america and now users are taking it back and won’t be moved this time, trust me.

  20. Minisite Challenge Says:

    Hi,

I wish you luck with your venture. It WILL work, and I am doing something similar, although on a more modest scale. Follow my progress on my Minisite Challenge website.

    Hello,

My dear frnds, as far as money is concern, I dont think he’ll short of money, coz in India remuneration doesn’t goes like 8$ an hour…. its far far lesser. and if u go for less experience and needy ppls… its really low… every1 is aware abt population and unemployment prob India is facing, so I am sure.. compensation won’t be issue for Nitin… and before implementing don’t u guys think he must have also plan something into his brain ?

Cheer Nitin… and just remember… when u r criticize then always think u r on way of progress !!!!

  22. Matthew Berman Says:

how are you possibly going to generate enough content everyday to manage 5k websites?

  23. Nitin Says:

Thx everyone for their continued support, advices and suggestions. The project 5K a day is moving smoothly and is right on target. We are seeing some progress now. Soon in next 3-4 week I will have enuf stats to share with you all.

  24. Keith Donegan Says:
